The Korean men’s U23 team is composed of 12 talented players from the top club teams in the Korean League and is led by experienced coach Hong Haecheon, who served as coach of the youth and junior teams in 2007 and 2010. In the Asian region, Korea have been regarded as one of the strongest contenders in all age groups in the men’s division. Although Korea have not consistently performed at the world level, they are expected to gain good results in the FIVB Volleyball Men’s U23 World Championship after an powerful second place finish at the 2015 Asian Men’s U23 Volleyball Championship. Korean standout Jeong Donggeun and setter Lee Seungwon will certainly bolster the team’s campaign in the tournament, after earning experience in international competitions.
