Defending champions Brazil made a fascinating start against Mexico

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, August 24, 2015 – Brazil, the champions of the last edition, resumed their campaign with an outstanding victory (25-14, 25-15, 25-16) over Mexico in the last game of the first day action in Pool B at Al Ahli Club in Dubai, on Monday. 

Brazil’s Alan Souza lead the field with 16 points and he won 13 of them with spikes. Roberto Rincon and Humberto Ceballos scored 6 points each for Mexico.

Brazil dominated the game from beginning till the end. After a quick start, they gained a five points advantage at 10-5. Thanks to Alan Souza and Leandro Santos’ points they never looked back won the set by a double digit margin, 25-14.

Brazil’s strong serves helped to stay ahead for the whole second set. The scenario did not change and Brazil had a comfortable lead from the beginning. Mexico could not manage to stay competitive and Brazil won the set 25-15.

Brazil’s captain and setter Thiago Veloso distributed the ball well and South American team displayed a good attack performance as a team. They also showed their defensive skills against Mexican spikes. Mexico could not be able to find solutions against Brazil and Brazil won the set 25-16 and the match 3-0.
