Men's U23 inspection visit completed

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, March 18, 2015 – The countdown to the FIVB Volleyball Men’s U23 World Championship, due to take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from August 24 to 31 continues, with an inspection visit completed from March 11 to 12.

So far nine teams have qualified for the biennial tournament: hosts United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, Egypt, Russia, Italy, Brazil, Argentina, Cuba and Mexico. They will be joined by the winner of the Asian U23 Championship – due to take place from May 12 to 20 – as well as the highest placed team in the FIVB U23 Volleyball World Ranking yet to qualify for the tournament.

FIVB Board of Administration member, Technical Delegate and Sports Events Council Member Mr Shanrit Wongprasert conducted the inspection visit alongside president Mr Yousef Al Mulla of the United Arab Emirates Volleyball Federation and his staff. 

The tournament will unfold across four venues – Al Nasr Club, Al Wasl Club, Al Shabab Club and Al Ahli Club, Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Sports Hall – and the Government Authorities have already fully supported the organisation of the Men’s U23 World Championships.
