Turkey maintain winning streak against Mexico

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, August 26, 2015 – Turkey defeated Mexico 3-0 (25-22, 28-26, 25-12) in the first game of Pool B’s third day action in FIVB Men’s U23 World Championship at Al Ahli Club, in Dubai on Wednesday.

Turkish team maintained their leading position and winning streak to 3-0, while Mexico stayed pointless after three games. Turkish opposite Metin Toy was the star player of the match with 23 points. Mexico’s middle blocker Jose Martinez scored 17 points for his team.

Turkey started the game very aggressively on the net with spikes and blocks. Turkish team had five points margins a few times during the set and Mexico only managed to reduce it to two points. Metin Toy, who scored 11 points for Turkey, led his team to win the set 25-22.

Mexico found some solutions to pass the Turkish block in the second set and that helped them to stay in the game. Despite Mexico’s 15-12 lead, Turkey made a comeback to level the game at 18-all. Serve errors caused Mexico to lose the set 28-26.

After a bad loss in the second set, Mexican team lost their focus. Turkey led from beginning till the end and won the set with a comfortable margin 25-12.
