We must be better – Russia coach Mikhail Nikolaev

Press conference after Russia vs Tunisia game

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, August 24, 2015 – Russia defeated Tunisia 3-1 in the first game of Pool B in FIVB Men’s U23 World Championship. Russia coach Mikhail Nikolaev thinks they should be better in next games despite starting with a victory.

Russia coach Mikhail Nikolaev:

Tunisia is a very good team, it is very difficult to play against them. They made a few mistakes and it helped us. This is good result for our team but we must better tomorrow.

Russian player Egor Kliuka:

First games are always very hard in these tournaments. We will try to play much better in next games. We are happy to start with a victory.

Tunisia coach Moncef
Belaiba:

Russia deserved the win so congratulations to them. They are
one of the best team in the world. We were not good at serve and
defence. After second set we changed our attitude but could not win
because Russia is the more experienced and taller team. We let them to
play open. We will improve our level to improve our ranking.

Tunisia captain Ben Slimene Khaled:

We did not start well to our first game. Russia deserved to win. We hope to play better and to win the second game. We fought well against Russia. We gave them hard time but we were not lucky. We look game after game. We are focused our next game against Turkey. We came here to gain experience and to go as further as we can.
