Dubai, United Arab Emirates, August 24, 2015 – Turkey was the second winning team of Pool B, after Russia, in the first day of FIVB Men’s U23 World Championship. Both coach and captain of Turkey said they were prepared well for Argentina game.
Turkey coach Emanuele Zanini: We prepared this match very well. We knew Argentina’s strength. It was not an easy game. I think today we played a good match despite pressure of the first game. It is not easy to start any competition. We want to improve our level. We are satisfied with the score. We sometimes have up and downs but in high level if you do it you let your opponent to comeback.
Turkey captain Burak Gungor: Argentina is a good team but we were well prepared for this game. We had a long preparaionperiod. I want to thank my teammates for their performance. We hope to continue like this.
Argentina coach Martin Lopez: Turkey was good and pretty strong today. The difference between them and us was Turkey’s attacking was better. And we knew that tr are good and strong team.
Argentina captain Gonzalo Quiroga: Congratulations to Turkey, they were very good today. We did not perform our best. We were not able to pass the ball well and did not serve good. Now we started to think about next game.
