Argentina’s first victory come in straight sets against Mexico

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, August 25, 2015 – Argentina won their first match at FIVB Men’s U23 World Championship on the second day of Pool B against Mexico by 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-14) at Al Ahli Club on Tuesday.

Pablo Koukartsev, Gonzalo Quiroga and Nicolas Lazo scored 14, 14 and 8 points for the winning team, respectively. Mexico’s best scorer was Julian Duarte with 10 points.

Argentina was the better team in the beginning and captain Gonzalo Quiroga lifted his team up to make it 11-5 in a short time. Despite Nava Garay’s four-point performance, Mexico could not manage to strike back and Argentina won the set 25-17.

Pablo Koukartsev was the main man on the net in the second set for Argentina and South American team lead from beginning till the end. Argentina were effective both on attacking and defending during the set which they won 25-19.

Argentina did not stop in the third set. They had a comfortable lead in the beginning (8-3) and maintained it during the set before winning 25-14.
