Brazil strike through Tunisia’s resistance

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, August 26, 2015 – Defending champions Brazil overcame the second day's loss against Russia to beat Tunisia 3-1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-21, 25-20) at Al Ahli Club, in Dubai on Wednesday.

Brazil continued to chase Turkey and Russia with 6 points while Tunisia stayed pointless. Brazil’s Alan Souza was the best scorer of the match with 20 points. On the other side, Elyes Garfi scored 17 points for Tunisia.

Tunisia was the better side at the beginning but after African team’s 9-6 lead, Brazil took the initiative, thanks to Alan Souza’s spikes. Tunisia had problems to pass Brazil’s block and Brazil’s net action brought the set 25-21.

Tunisia showed their potential in the second set and this time they stayed focused. Brazil managed to level the game at 20-all despite falling behind 19-16 but Tunisia stayed in the game to win the set 25-22.

Brazil setter Thiago Veloso used his attacking weapons well during the third set. Defending champions had a comfortable lead at 16-12 but Tunisia scored a 4-0 run to level the game at 16-16. In the end, it was Brazil all over again and they won the set 25-21.

Both teams could not manage to extend a gap till the second technical time out in the last set. Brazil was the side with fewer mistakes and won the set 25-20.
